Time For Change

There is great concern at the huge disparity in fees across veterinary practices. We have been made aware of certain medical procedures that cost £200 in one part of the country and in excess of £1500 in another part for precisely the same service.

We will be lobbying government for the standardisation of charging structures. It simply cannot be right that a medical profession can get away with charging pretty much what it likes depending on what part of the country it is services.

Key procedures such as spaying or neutering, which have important social consequences, should be subject to a maximum cap to encourage less well-off owners to take a responsible approach.
